To whomever this may concern,
October has been a crazy month for me this year. I shouldn't even say that. This entire year has been nonstop full of problems to overcome. I've been trying to keep myself busy to help take my mind off everything.
Unfortunately, there have been some ongoing issues between me and my aunt and uncle going on for the last 15 years where abuse that my siblings and I went through in their household was kept quiet and I was called a liar about it when I opened up (yup, we were taken away from the abusive blood parents and were sent to live with an abusive aunt. Out of the fire and into the frying pan).
Fast forward 15 years later, I confronted them about it. I said that I didn't feel comfortable inviting them to my wedding unless I got an apology for my little sister. I didn't even want it for myself, but I wanted it for her. My uncle called me a liar and told me to be a big girl and talk to his wife. My aunt refused to speak to me and blocked my phone number when I tried to call to talk about it. They told my grandparents, and now everyone is wanting to push the abuse under the rug and pretend it didn't happen. It's been a very frustrating month. Long story short, I had to cut some ties for the better.
But, enough of my blabber. I still need to work on some unfinished projects. After this last commission, I feel like I need to take a break and get some personal art done. I haven't done any since August and I almost feel a bit burnt out. I still need to work on my books as well.
As far as for any updates on the Sorcerer's Dragon, I haven't heard anything from the publisher in the last almost 4 months since I've put in my request to get my rights back. They have until January 5th, 2018 to either give me a decision, or all rights immediately go back to me. I'm prepared to get a lawyer when that time comes just in case, especially the trouble it took just for them to acknowledge my request in the beginning. Wish me luck. Otherwise, they will not get the last two books in the series if the worst case scenario happens. I need to also make sure that they don't have any copyright on my artwork as well. There was nothing in the contract stating it, other than for it to be used as the cover.
With all due respect,
